The Swissport lounge has been under remodeling process. That’s why nowadays it looks quite modest. The lounge at the Terminal 5, O’Hare Airport, is quite small and windowless. Although it will get the necessary improvements soon, nowadays the clients complain, that they can’t always get into the lounge as it often becomes overcrowded.
Swissport Lounge ORD Design and Amenties
If you are not afraid of the limited Swissport lounge’s size, you can give it a chance and, probably, you’ll like it.
Designers worked very hard to find the best decoration solutions for the small-sized lounge with the lack of light. In order to compensate the absence of the natural light, they decorated the lounge with huge round lamps, which remind the balls. To create warm domestic atmosphere away from home, the interior designers used wooden details, like cup holders near armchairs etc.
To make the atmosphere in the Swissport lounge even more relaxing, soft neutral colors were used. Grey, beige and black tints are dominant in the lounge’s interior décor. Some red elements make the Swissport lounge space even more elegant.
The lounge’s space is divided into traditional zones. The resting zone boasts deep comfy armchairs with the small round tables adjacent to them. It’s possible to take a nap or to recharge the devices here. The quite room is followed by the buffet zone. Many travelers state, the range of snacks is really wide here. It is possible to satisfy the appetite with a huge pack of Oreo cookies, waffles, fruit, instant soup options etc. In the fridge, you can find so called “cold plates” with salad, hamburgers or pasta, which you can warm up.
There are lots of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic to drink. The travelers enjoy cool Coke, Schweppes, mineral water etc. The alcoholic beverages include beer, liquors, wine.
Swissport Lounge ORD Peculiarities
The main thing you should know about this lounge, that sometimes it is hard to get in. The international premium and elite passengers’ accommodation from various airlines is prioritized. That’s why the holders of priority pass cards are often rejected, which makes them disappointed. Some reviewers complain that the armchairs in the lounge didn’t age well and they look worn-out. Still, the lounge is cozy enough, so it’s a good idea to visit it while you are flying from Chicago O’Hare airport lounge.
